TUNE+ Built Crate Engines

 


This page was created to outline our complete engine offerings. There has been some slight confusion on what all we do and do not offer when it comes to our complete built crate engines. If you have ANY questions please email tuning@adamtuned.com. We want to ensure there is no confusion on what you are getting, or what is all required by you, the customer, when you receive your TUNE+ Built Crate Engine.

Before we break down the different engine options we want to make it known that our engines do not require a core to be provided by the customer. The price includes new OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) Ford Factory Cylinder Head, Block, and Crank. Customers have the option of shipping in a complete running engine to be built, Rod Knock is OK, but the block cannot be compromised in any way. No holes, or cracks! Please see below for more information on credits we provide for supplied components.

*PLEASE NOTE, FOCUS RS ENGINES ARE BUILT WITH 2.0L BLOCKS, BUT 2.3L INTERNALS. THIS IS TO AVOID CRACKING ON THE BLOCK THAT THE FACTORY FOCUS RS ENGINE BLOCK HAS BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE HAPPEN. 2.0 BLOCKS DO NOT REQUIRE CYLINDER SUPPORT SYSTEMS AS THEY HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO 650WHP RELIABLY*

CORE CREDIT BREAKDOWN:

 

  • If customer ships in complete running engine, invoice will be discounted $1500.00
  • If customer ships in complete cylinder head, invoice will be discounted $600.00
  • If customer ships in a known good cylinder block, invoice will be discounted $600.00

**Any customer that purchases an engine has 30 days once their engine is received to send back the above components for a credit. Credit will not be issued until the engine, block, or head is inspected and deemed in good working order. 

All engines receive all new OEM hardware, gaskets, seals, and other various items. Below is a complete listing of what is included with your new engine.

What do you get?

You get a completely assembled engine, oil pan to valve cover. You will be required to move over your cylinder head temperature sensor, valve control solenoids, high pressure fuel pump, injectors, vacuum pump, and all accessories. All your factory components will bolt on, nothing is changed on our engines to affect fitment of any of these components, any turbo kit, and any intake manifold. 

 

TYPE-A Crate Engine

The Type-A crate engine is geared towards a customer that is looking to simply replace their stock engine with one that can handle the abuse near stock turbo capabilities. This engine is intended for use up to 500hp to the wheels and 7000rpm rev limit. This is going to be a solid engine choice if you have an engine failure and are looking to get back up and running for a price lower then a new factory engine.

TYPE-B Crate Engine

The Type-B crate engine is for customers looking to run aftermarket turbo upgrades, turbo kits, and upgraded fuel systems. This engine features our custom rod/pistons combo, ported cylinder head, and upgraded camshafts from PIPER UK. It is intended for 500-600hp to the wheels, 7800rpm rev limit, and designed to take abuse in all forms of motorsport. Competitive road race, drag racing, and street racing customers - this engine is for you.

TYPE-C Crate Engine

The Type-C crate engine is an all out race engine that will take anything you throw at it. We will conservatively rate this engine to 800whp, 8000rpm rev limit, and a turbo capable of 65lb/min of flow or higher is recommended. This engine features custom open deck sleeves specifically designed for TUNEPLUS, INC. This allows for us to strengthen the block to hold significant amounts of power, while not compromising the coolant system by taking up valuable real estate around the cylinder sleeves. This engine can be daily driven but the BP300 Camshafts used in these engines are very aggressive and your idle quality will be poor if not set above 1000rpm. If you want to go all out, look no further this monster is the answer.

Shipping:

Freight is not included with the price of our crate engines, shipping will be determined once the engine is complete and ready to ship to your destination. Continental USA freight cost averages between $300-350.00, Hawaii and Alaska between $450-700.00, and international can range between $700-1200.00. Installation at TUNE+ Facility:

Installation is available at our 4,000sqft medical-grade clean shop, located just outside of Dallas, TX. Customers have been shipping us their vehicles since we opened the doors of our new facility, so much that we have worked out a contract with Eagle Auto Relocators for a flat rate auto transport cost. Any vehicle that needs transport to our facility for engine installation will cost $900.00 and will be picked up within 3 days of scheduling the transport in the Continental USA only. 

Installation of our engine includes all new fluids, gaskets, and hardware. We will break in the engine on the street properly, then do the final tune on our in-house Dynojet 424x Dyno. We are a 100% full-service shop, so when you come to pick up your car it will be in guaranteed working order, tuned, and ready to be abused!

At no extra charge during install we will do upgraded clutches, axles, motor mounts, catch cans, downtubes, intakes, intercoolers, chargepipes, and mount aux fuel systems. Turbo kits (not stock frame bolt-on upgrades) and wiring of fuel controllers/gauges are extra.
